Capture the memories...
Newborn Photoshoot
We all wish sometimes that time could stand still so we can appreciate our children being little for that tiny bit longer. But those little people won't be so small forever. It's so important to capture all those special details for you to look back on in years to come.
It's my passion to help create those special memories that you will be able to cherish forever...
Below is your newborn Prep guide which will detail what to expect on the day of your photoshoot when you've booked with me...

Congratulations...
Congratulations on your pregnancy/new arrival and thank you for choosing me to take pictures of your precious newborn baby. I know how difficult, exhausting and often painful the first few weeks and months of having a new baby can be. So I very much hope that your photoshoot with me will be an enjoyable experience and as relaxing as possible. Below are a few helpful tips which if you can do will help the session run as smoothly as possible. However please do not stress if any of these are unachievable for you right now, it is just a guide.
What to bring:
You will only need to bring to the studio what you would normally need when leaving the house with your baby. Nappies, wipes, dummies, (if using) spare set of clothes, milk and bottles etc. If you are formula feeding the ready made bottles of formula are really useful to bring with you instead of powder so feeds are much quicker.
If there is anything you particularly want photographing with your baby like a special teddy bear bring that along too but try to keep these to one or two items if possible. I don't recommend bringing special outfits as most of the newborn session will be using my wraps and swaddle blankets.
Try and keep baby awake for as long as possible before you visit and feed baby just before you travel or when you first arrive so their belly is nice and full and comfortable - which usually equals a happy sleepy baby. Sessions are up to 3 hours long so there will be plenty of time for feeding and nappy changes.
My studio is located in Ripley, Derbyshire in my small at home studio.

WHAT TO WEAR:

During the newborn session parents and siblings will be invited to join baby in some of the photographs so it is important to consider what you should wear.
I highly suggest wearing neutral colours with minimal patterns if possible. So mainly whites, creams, beige colours preferably.. Smart denim jeans are ok.
You don't need to all be wearing similar clothes but I recommend to try and coordinate a little so you are all wearing simular colours and styles etc.
However, the most important thing is you feel comfortable and feel good.
And it can be a good idea to bring an extra set of clothes just in case of any explosive nappies.

I do recommend hair and make is done prior to your photoshoot, so arrive ready, there will be time for small make up and hair touch ups if needed during your session. .
After Your Session...
After your session I will carefully pick through the best of the pictures captured and edit them to make them the best they can be. I don't like to over edit newborns however as I feel it is good to remember their flaky spotty skin or double chins so you can look back on these little quirks in years to come and remember exactly how they were. However, if there is anything in particular that you would like editing please let me know.
It can take up to 14 days to edit your pictures.
Once fully edited I will email you with a link to my website where you can choose and download your photographs. You can also buy prints and extra digital images from here too.
